Girl Friday Breakfast Club with Alice Workman, Friday 31 August

The Girl Friday Breakfast Club was established by Kate Reynolds and Anita Taylor and aims to provide a friendly and informal space for women to meet, chat, and support each other. There is no agenda other than hearing from an interesting woman speaker, eating breakfast and drinking great coffee or tea together in Studio Cafe at Drawing Projects UK on the last Friday of each month from 8:00am to 10:00am.

On Friday 31 August, our guest speaker will be Alice Workman, Senior Director of Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

Alice Workman joined Hauser & Wirth in 2011 as a Director to lead the development of their new gallery in Somerset, which opened in 2014. Alice worked with the design team, including the architectural firm Laplace & Co and the landscape designer Piet Oudolf to devise the plans for the future gallery, and oversaw the renovation of Durslade Farm and construction of new galleries. She devised the concept for Hauser & Wirth Somerset alongside Iwan and Manuela Wirth, and formed a new model for a commercial gallery, with a particular focus on community engagement and education. Since opening on 15 July 2014, the gallery has welcomed over 500,000 visitors. Prior to joining Hauser & Wirth, Alice was the Head of Exhibitions at Southampton City Art Gallery (2009-2011) and a Director at the New Art Centre at Roche Court near Salisbury.

Please book your Girl Friday Breakfast in advance, so we know how many to cater for!

All women, and those who identify as women, are very welcome to join the Girl Friday Breakfast Club.
