Girl Friday Breakfast Club with Tamsin Treverton Jones on 29 March
On Friday 29 March 2019 our Girl Friday Breakfast Club guest speaker will be the author Tamsin Treverton Jones, whose recent book, Windblown, was written to mark the 30th anniversary of the Great Storm of 1987, a night of hurricane-force winds that struck southern Britain without warning, claiming 18 lives, uprooting more than 15 million trees and reshaping the landscape for future generations. Windblown was inspired by a sculpture that was commissioned by Kew Gardens and designed by her father, the artist Terry Thomas in the aftermath of the storm.
Tamsin studied French at Bristol University and went on to be Head of Press at the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal Court Theatre and at Bath Literature and Music Festivals. She has written, produced and presented features for radio, and programmed literary events for digital broadcast. Now, after writing four non-fiction books, she has made the leap into fiction and is in the process of writing her first novel.

The Girl Friday Breakfast Club was established by Kate Reynolds and Anita Taylor to provide a friendly and informal space for women to meet, chat, and support each other. There is no agenda other than hearing from an interesting woman speaker, eating breakfast and drinking great coffee or tea together in Miranda's Coffee Shop at Drawing Projects UK on the last Friday of each month from 8:00am to 10:00am. All women, and those who identify as women, are very welcome to join the Girl Friday Breakfast Club.
