On Monday 8 October 2018 there will be a professional development event for artists focusing on two key aspects of successful self marketing: social media and exhibition strategies, and led by Penny Harris and Iona Rowland of visual arts consultants, Parker Harris. The event runs from 10.30am - 5.30pm and may be booked as an all day event or as a morning only session.

The day will be split into two parts, either side of lunch*, which will be provided. Tickets may be purchased for either both parts, or just Part One.

Part One - Presentations:
Penny Harris, a founding partner of Parker Harris,  will share her experience and knowledge as regards best practice for artists. She will discuss all aspects necessary for the building and maintenance of a professional and successful artistic career.

Iona Rowland, Communications Manager at Parker Harris, will take you through how social media can be utilised by artists and creatives to reach new and diverse audiences. The presentation will look specifically at social media as a tool for engaging collectors whilst exploring how relationships built through social media channels can serve as a foundation for new collaborations and exhibition opportunities.

Presentation topics will include: talking about your work; sourcing and taking best advantage of exhibiting opportunities, and gallery representation.

Part Two - Surgeries:
After lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in two separate one-to-one surgeries. Each surgery will last 30 minutes and will be led by a member of the Parker Harris team. One surgery will focus on social media, the other on exhibition strategies; both surgeries will function as mini mentoring sessions, providing each attendee with advice and guidance tailored to their own artistic practice.

* Lunch will be provided by STUDIO Cafe at Drawing Projects UK and includes a selection of gourmet sandwiches, crisps and juice, along with French press coffee and tea. Please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.
